Congratulations to all our Stars for Kids honorees!  And thanks to everyone who is a "Star for Kids" and helped make our 2009 awards evening such a great success!  Without the support of people like you, we would not be able to help as many children as we do through our various community service projects.  Thanks for being a "Star".

Stars for Kids Award Recipients Announced -  1/1/2009
STARS FOR KIDS ANNOUNCED
Stars for Kids Awards are given to 8 exemplary people in our community who have gone the extra mile and volunteered their time to help children.  The honorees include 5 high school seniors, a firefighter, a police officer, and Mayor's award to a West Hartford resident. 

The recipients are:

West Hartford Club Installs First Female President -  10/1/2008

The recently re-charted Kiwanis Club of West Hartford made history again this past week by installing its first female president.  Longtime West Hartford resident, Claudia Anastasio Bowles became president on October 1. Bowles was installed on September 22 at a joint installation meeting with the Newington, Hartford, and New Britain Kiwanis Clubs.  She will remain president for one year. Claudia succeeds her husband, Motkue Bowles who was the first African-American president of the

How We Spent Our Summer Vacation (from a LTTW Parent) -  8/13/2008

Thank you all for a truly wonderful week. The camp was well run, the volunteers
warm and supportive (and in great cardiovascular shape too!), and the LTW staff
and program were exceptional.

It was all I could do to keep from breaking into tears on Friday afternoon at
the closing of the camp session, but since I had already wept on Thursday after
seeing Ben ride alone around the gym, I promised the boys I would not embarrass
them again. But, I start to weep again as I write this note, and each

Club Foundation receives 501(c)3 Status -  4/7/2008
Our Club is proud to announce that we have received 501(c)3 status for our charitable foundation.

The Foundation (KCWHCSF) was established as a 501(c)3 to service the needs of children in our community.  Currently, the Foundation is used to help fund various community service projects such as Lose The Training Wheels, scholarships including Key Leader and Stars for Kids, K-Kids, and other activites.
